LIMB AND BRUSH COLLECTION RESUMES
Vacuum leaf collection by the Owensboro Sanitation Department has ended. Therefore, limb and brush collection has resumed. The Sanitation Department will collect tree limbs, brush, and bagged yard waste on regularly scheduled trash collection days. Residents need to place the material behind the curb before 6:00 a.m.
The following are simple guidelines to make sure items are collected:
- Place loose items such as tomato vines, leaves, etc. in bags or customer provided cans for collection.
- Please limit can or bag weight to 30 pounds.
- Piles are to be left behind the curb to ensure storm drains remain clear of debris.
- Limbs must be smaller than 6-inches in diameter for collection.
- Please place the cut end towards the street.Do not block material with cars or other obstructions.
- The Sanitation Department cannot collect dirt of any kind.
- Please thoroughly rinse off all root wads for collection.
Owensboro Sanitation customers have the option to haul limbs and leaves year-round to the Daviess County Transfer Station located at 2129 Grimes Avenue. For free disposal of yard waste at the Transfer Station, customers can take a current copy of their sanitation bill (located on either OMU or Daviess County water bill) and a photo ID.
