NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Board will meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in Commission Chambers, located on the fourth floor at City Hall, 101 E. 4^th Street, Owensboro, Kentucky.  Meeting dates are subject to change and if so, will be published.

Meeting dates of the Owensboro Board of Commissioners for the year 2024 are listed below. Commission meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. and the third Tuesday of the month beginning at 4:00 p.m.  All meetings are held in the Commission Chambers located on the fourth floor at City Hall, 101 E. 4th Street. May 11th is our Super Kids Soapbox Race for special needs kids in the morning and registration for our June Local Race in the afternoon. May 18th -19th is a Rally Race where there will be local racers as well as racers from other areas competing. June 2nd is Impound Day for Local Race and racers will have the opportunity to take trial runs down the track. June 8th is our Local Race where local racers will be competing for the opportunity to represent Owensboro at the All American Race in Akron OH in July. The August, September and November dates are Rally Races where local racers and racers from other areas will be racing to earn points to qualify to go the All American Race in Akron OH.

Owensboro Community & Technical College Grant G. Talbott 5K Run/Walk provides funding for OCTC student scholarships. Registration begins at 7:30 AM at Owensboro Community & Technical College, 4800 New Hartford Road. Shuttles are provided to transport participants from OCTC to Legion Park, The 5K begins at Legion Park, and the finish line is at OCTC. Award ceremony begins after the last participant crosses the finish line.

Honor our Super Hero Cancer Survivors! Proceeds will benefit the patients of Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center.

The race will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Healthpark.

• 5K Race - $25 early bird entry fee by August 1, $35 after August 1.
• Kids Fun Run – FREE! Each child will receive a t-shirt and medal.
• Super Hero Walk – this is a team event honoring our Super Hero Survivors. Up to 10 people per team, entry fee $150 per team. Each team is asked to raise at least $500 in addition to the entry fee. Teams can participate in honor or in memory of loved ones, co-workers, friends. Survivors will be honored at the walk. Dress as your favorite super hero!!
• Prizes will be awarded for each event, and top fundraising individual and team.

Join this annual parade in downtown Owensboro and along Veterans Blvd. to honor all of our nation's veterans. From the form up point at Clay St. and 2nd St., west on 2nd Street to Daviess St., then north on Daviess St. to Veterans Blvd to in front of the Shelton Memorial and Gold Star Monument to the intersection with Frederica St. and disperse to the west.

RYR Endurance Team is hosting several races including a 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, and 50K ultra all taking place on the greenbelt between Fairview Drive and Old Hartford Rd. The route takes athletes along shaded paths and beside two beautiful lakes on each lap. Athletes will run a certain number of loops for each distance. A table will be setup near the start/finish for athletes to place their personal hydration/nutrition. This format makes it spectator friendly. The marathon and 50K will be held on Sunday. All other races will take place on Saturday. Parking and race starting line will be at Horse Fork Creek Park.

The event is a 5K Race/Walk that will take place in Owensboro. This event is to spread awareness to the mission of CASA, to advocate for abused, neglected, or dependent children within the family court system of Daviess, McLean, Hancock, Ohio counties. CASA is working to partner with another non-profit to bring this 5K forward, once that partnership is secured we will submit a proposed route.
