OWENSBORO UPDATE
SANITATION DEPARTMENT

 

Due to the increase of citizens working from home, the Owensboro Sanitation Department requests that customers follow the simple guidelines below to ensure your items are collected:

 

 

• Place trash curbside by 6:00 a.m. Once drivers pass through your neighborhood, they cannot return for late set-outs.
• All trash intended for collection must be contained inside the mobile cart and the lid must be closed.
• Do not block the cart with cars or set them too close to fences, trees, poles, or other stationary objects, and do not place them underneath overhead obstructions such as trees, lines, etc. Automatic collection requires 4 ft. of clearance all around.
• Face cart towards the street (see arrows on top of your cart).
• Loose yard waste (small trimmings, sticks and small shrubs) should be bagged, or placed in a separate personal can for collection.  Limit bags or personal cans of yard waste to 30 lbs.  Loose yard waste materials must not be placed in a city mobile cart.
