New Storybook Walk at Moreland Park
Friday November 15, 2019 1:25 PM
The public is invited to a ribbon cutting Monday, November 18 at 3:30 p.m. at Moreland Park where for the Storybook Walk located around the walking trail on the North end of the park.
The Storybook Walk is a project driven by Shannon Sandefur, Community Engagement Manager for the Daviess County Public Library and library staff, and funded by an Owensboro Health Community Benefit Grant. The City as property owner has worked in partnership with the library staff to perform the installation of the storybook frames and host this project.
A storybook walk is a series of upright sign holders placed along a walking trail displaying a story from beginning to end. We hope that this asset will help increase park patron engagement, and encourage reading and physical activity within our youth. The books will periodically change throughout the year to encourage patrons to return.
