CITY OF OWENSBORO SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON HOME-ARP FUNDING AND RELEASES RESULTS OF HOMELESS NEEDS ASSESSMENT
The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) appropriated $5 Billion to communities across the U.S. to provide housing, services, and shelter to individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable populations.
As part of the ARPA, the City of Owensboro was awarded and anticipates an allocation of $1,007,867 in Home Investment Partnerships Grant – American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) funds to help create affordable housing and services for the homeless, people at risk of homelessness, persons fleeing domestic violence, and other vulnerable populations. The City of Owensboro will request this funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through a Substantial Amendment to the 2021 Annual Action Plan.
The City is seeking public input on implementation of the funding through this survey: https://owensboro.org/page/home-arp-funding-information. In addition, the City and County recently completed a Needs Assessment and Gap Analysis for HOME-ARP Funding, which outlines homeless and housing needs in Owensboro and Daviess County. The full assessment can be found at https://owensboro.org/page/home-arp-funding-information.
