    Friday After 5 is a summer-long series of free outdoor concerts held every Friday on the eight block, stunningly beautiful Owensboro, Kentucky riverfront.

    Friday After 5 began in 1996 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature festival for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 50,000 visitors each season on the riverfront every Friday After 5. It’s Where the Weekend Begins!

    Fun. Friends. Free.

    Friday After 5 was again named one of the “Top Ten Summer Festivals” in Kentucky and just won the prestigious Reader’s Choice Platinum Award for “Best Community Event” of the year.  The festival includes live bands, family events, food and entertainment and our “Toast to the Sunset” at each Friday After 5.

    The City of Owensboro will celebrate Independence Day at its annual All-American Fourth of July event on Monday, July 4, 2022. The 2022 All-American Fourth of July will combine the annual celebration on the riverfront with the three additional fireworks locations throughout the city. The celebration will get started in Smothers Park along the downtown riverfront at 5:00pm on Monday, July 4. Live music will be provided by ZoCephus & FunkNasty at 5:00pm and The Downtown Band at 7:00pm. At 9:15pm, the 15 minute fireworks show will be launched from barges on the Ohio River for everyone gathered along the riverfront. Three (3) additional locations throughout the city with also be launched simultaneously with the riverfront show. These locations include Centre Court/Shifley Park, Owensboro Sportscenter/Moreland Park, and Owensboro Warehouse Leasing/former GE plant. Spectators can tune in to 92.5 FM WBKR to listen to the soundtrack to which the fireworks have been choreographed. For the safety of the public and the pyrotechnic professionals, the secure fireworks launch sites throughout the city will not be open to the public. People attempting to watch from the launch sites will cause the fireworks at that location to be halted.

  • Putt Putt Pub Crawl

    Putt Putt golf in downtown Owensboro with drink/food specials at participating holes. Each business will construct a fun and creative putt-putt hole with a shotgun start at Lure Seafood and Grille. There will be prizes awarded for the team with the lowest score AND for best golf attire voted on by your fellow golfers. Feel free to bring your own putter or one will be provided at each hole. Golf balls also provided. If you don’t have a full team of four, we’ll be happy to pair you with others. Teams can complete the holes in any order and score cards are due by 4:30 at Bar Louie where an after party will be going strong and winners announced!!     Friday After 5 is a summer-long series of free outdoor concerts held every Friday on the eight block, stunningly beautiful Owensboro, Kentucky riverfront.

    Friday After 5 began in 1996 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature festival for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 50,000 visitors each season on the riverfront every Friday After 5. It’s Where the Weekend Begins!

    Fun. Friends. Free.

    Friday After 5 was again named one of the “Top Ten Summer Festivals” in Kentucky and just won the prestigious Reader’s Choice Platinum Award for “Best Community Event” of the year.  The festival includes live bands, family events, food and entertainment and our “Toast to the Sunset” at each Friday After 5.
