These dates are Open Track Days for children and their parents to come out to the track to find out more about Soapbox Derby Racing and to take trial runs down the hill. The May 6th date will also be our Super Kids Race for special needs children. The winner of this race will advance to the All American Race in Akron during the summer. The June 3rd will also be our Impound Day for racers that will be running in the Local Soapbox Race on June 10th.

May 20-21 is a Rally Race Weekend where racers from around the area and surrounding states will be competing to earn points to attend the All American Race in Akron. Racers will be recognized and there will be games and other activities for them and their families. June 10th will be the Local Race where kids will compete to earn a trip to the All American Race in Akron. June 11th is the rain date for the Local Race. August 19-20 is another Rally Race Weekend. September 9-10 and November 4-5 are Rally Races where racers from the area and other states will compete for points to earn a trip to the All American Race in Akron.

Friday After 5 is a summer-long series of free outdoor concerts held every Friday on the eight block, stunningly beautiful Owensboro, Kentucky riverfront.
Friday After 5 began in 1996 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature festival for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 50,000 visitors each season on the riverfront every Friday After 5. It’s Where the Weekend Begins!

Friday After 5 was again named one of the “Top Ten Summer Festivals” in Kentucky and just won the prestigious Reader’s Choice Platinum Award for “Best Community Event” of the year. Run for Foxy Roxie 5K

This is the 3rd annual "Run for Foxy Roxie" 5k. The race is held in honor of Roxanne Lorraine Pickrell. "Roxie" passed away in 2019, at age 13, after a brief battle with brain cancer. The race will be timed by Rise Up and Run for those interested in competing. Walkers are also welcome, as well as strollers and pets on leashes. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in both male and female age categories, a top male/top female award, and a spirit award.

The Audubon-Bon Harbor Area Neighborhood Alliance will host a community yard sale from 7:00 am - 12:00 pm on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10. All residents in the Alliance area are encouraged to participate.
The Audubon-Bon Harbor Area Neighborhood Alliance includes the neighborhoods of Audubon Acres, Bon Harbor Hills, Turtle Creek, Harbor Trace, Doe Ridge and the Benttree Drive area. Boundaries for the Alliance can be found at https://services.owensboro.org/maps/citizen-information/.
The Audubon-Bon Harbor Area Neighborhood Alliance meets at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of every other month at Audubon Elementary School. However, due to schools being closed for summer break, the next meeting will be on Monday, July 10 at Thompson-Berry Park (1 Carter Road) near the concession stand.

The Owensboro Neighborhood Alliances will once again host the annual neighborhood cleanups this year. The cleanups will take place from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the dates listed below. All residents in the cleanup areas are encouraged to help beautify the neighborhood by picking up litter along sidewalks and streets on their scheduled cleanup day. Boundaries for your neighborhood alliance can be found at https://services.owensboro.org/maps/citizen-information.
The Sanitation Department will provide free curbside pick-up to alliance residential customers for junk furniture, appliances, tires, and other items. Place items curbside by the Friday night prior to your scheduled cleanup. If you have large items, please call CityAction at 270-687-4444 or e-mail cityaction@owensboro.org BY THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE YOUR CLEANUP to schedule pick-up. Smaller items must be bagged or boxed. Sanitation crews CANNOT collect construction debris/materials, yard waste, dirt, paint, or any type of liquid.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN per KRS 83A.150(4)(b), that the Owensboro Board of Commissioners regularly scheduled Work Session for June 13 @ 12:00 p.m., has been cancelled and rescheduled to a Special Called Commission meeting at 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in the Commission Chambers located on the fourth floor at City Hall, 101 E. 4th Street, Owensboro, KY.

Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana Walk

5K walk to raise awareness of epilepsy and also raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana to continue to provide support to the community. The walk will take place at Legion Park. Walkers will arrive at 9am and register, announcements will be at 10am and the walk will start at 10:15pm. The walk will end at 11am and walkers will come back to the shelter for closing remarks then leave at approx 11:30am.

The route will start at the Ben Hawes Park shelter area located at 400 Booth Field Road. From there participants will travel on the roadways behind Ben Hawes Park, including Medley, South Griffith St., Willet, and Lower River Road; returning back to Ben Hawes State Park shelter area. There participants will gather for lunch and camaraderie at the end of the event. For over 20 years, David Yewell and his family and friends have held this charity event. Monies raised from this charity event support the St. Joseph Peace Mission for Children. The funding is used to provide a safe home for more than 250 at-risk youth and families served by the Mission.

The Owensboro Neighborhood Alliances will once again host the annual neighborhood cleanups this year. The cleanups will take place from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the dates listed below. All residents in the cleanup areas are encouraged to help beautify the neighborhood by picking up litter along sidewalks and streets on their scheduled cleanup day. Boundaries for your neighborhood alliance can be found at https://services.owensboro.org/maps/citizen-information.
The Sanitation Department will provide free curbside pick-up to alliance residential customers for junk furniture, appliances, tires, and other items. Place items curbside by the Friday night prior to your scheduled cleanup. If you have large items, please call CityAction at 270-687-4444 or e-mail cityaction@owensboro.org BY THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE YOUR CLEANUP to schedule pick-up. Smaller items must be bagged or boxed. Sanitation crews CANNOT collect construction debris/materials, yard waste, dirt, paint, or any type of liquid.

Friday After 5 is a summer-long series of free outdoor concerts held every Friday on the eight block, stunningly beautiful Owensboro, Kentucky riverfront.
Friday After 5 began in 1996 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature festival for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 50,000 visitors each season on the riverfront every Friday After 5. It’s Where the Weekend Begins!

Friday After 5 was again named one of the “Top Ten Summer Festivals” in Kentucky and just won the prestigious Reader’s Choice Platinum Award for “Best Community Event” of the year.
