Friday May 6, 2022 11:43 AM
Through the gracious donation of Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, the City of Owensboro’s Parks and Recreation Department have placed a solar bench at Legion Park playground. Due to inclement weather, the event will be postponed to Thursday, May 12 at 11:30 a.m.
The solar bench can be used to charge smart devices, cell phones, and tablets while supervising your child on the playground. The bench is designed to withstand weather conditions and is an innovative solution functioning on clean solar energy. Featuring 2 dual 3.0 rapid-charge ports, the bench is capable of charging 5 devices simultaneously. This is the first solar bench of its’ type in OBKY.
