THE THUNDERBIRDS ANNOUNCE A RETURN TO THE OWENSBORO AIR SHOW IN 2026

 

The United States Air Force Thunderbirds have officially announced their return to Owensboro for the highly anticipated 2026 Air Show! The announcement was made on Tuesday morning during the International Council of Airshows (ICAS) conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“We are thrilled to announce the Thunderbirds are coming back again in 2026,” says Tim Ross, Director of Public Events for the City of Owensboro. “The Owensboro Air Show has exploded in recent years with the largest crowds we have ever had.  We have built a fantastic reputation in the air show industry which allows us to bring in the best civilian and military teams from around the world and draw visitors from throughout the entire country.  I am beyond excited to welcome the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds team back to Owensboro again in 2026.”

The City of Owensboro is gearing up for an captivating new event in the fall of 2025! While the beloved Owensboro Air Show will return September 11–13, 2026, plans are already underway for a fresh addition to the city’s signature event lineup next year.

This new event promises to be an incredible experience for both the community and visitors. Details will be officially announced in early January.
