SHIFLEY-YORK & WESLEYAN-SHAWNEE NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE DAY SEPTEMBER 26

 

The Shifley-York and Wesleyan-Shawnee neighborhood alliances will celebrate Neighborhood Pride Day on Saturday, September 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at York Park.  The event will feature free inflatables, food, music and get to interact with representatives from the Owensboro Police Department and Owensboro Fire Department.  Neighbors are invited to come to the park and learn more about the Neighborhood Alliance Program.

 

The Shifley-York Neighborhood Alliance represents several neighborhoods - including Thoroughbred Acres, Fieldcrest and the York Park area - between McFarland Avenue and Scherm Road and between Lewis Lane and the U.S. 60 Bypass and meets at Lewis Lane Baptist Church on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

 

The Wesleyan-Shawnee Neighborhood Alliance extends from Booth Avenue to Tamarack Road, between Frederica Street and Lewis Lane.  It also includes residents west of Lewis Lane to the U.S. 60 Bypass, between Tamarack and Scherm Roads.  The neighborhood alliance meets at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every other month beginning in January.
