Press Release - 2016 Summer Day Camps Field Trips - Owensboro Parks and Recreation

The City of Owensboro’s Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for their two fun-filled Summer Day Camps that will take place May 23-August 5 for ages 5-13 years old. Each camp is open Monday-Friday 7a.m.-6p.m. Early morning drop off is available at 6:40a.m. for $2 extra a day. Breakfast, lunch and two snacks are provided at both camps throughout the summer.
Our traditional Summer Day Camp is located at the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administration Building at 1530 McJohnson Avenue. During the summer, campers will go swimming twice a week plus one field trip a week. Field trips for this summer include: Cecil Farms, 54 Pizza Express, Smothers Park, Burdette Park, Owensboro Malco, Edge Ice Center, Ozone Laser Tag. There is a weekly fee of $75 for a whole week or $65 for 3 days or fewer. Registration deadline is May 6.
The Edge Summer Day Camp is for children that love to skate! Throughout the summer, there will be swimming once a week and fieldtrips. Field trips for this summer include: Diamond Lanes South, WBKR, Sonic, Daviess County Public Library, Party Ponies, Ozone Laser Tag, and Malco Theater. Weekly fees are $80 for a whole week or $65 for 3 days or fewer. Registration deadline is May 13.
There are a limited number of openings for each camp so don’t delay in signing up! This is a great experience that your child will never forget.

At the time of registration, all forms must be filled out completely and a copy of the campers current immunization form must be provided.
