Wednesday January 4, 2017 10:12 AM
Owensboro Parks and Recreation is now accepting registrations for their two fun loving Summer Day Camps that will take place May 22-August 8 for ages 5-13. Each camp is open Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Early Morning drop off is available at 6:40 a.m. for $2 extra a day. Breakfast, lunch and two snacks are provided at both camps throughout the summer. NEW this year, there will be a Sibling Discount of $3 per child per week for each additional sibling registered after the first child who resides in the same household. This discount is not applicable to scholarship campers.
Our traditional Summer Day Camp is located at the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administration Building at 1530 McJohnson Avenue. It is the only day camp in Owensboro accredited by the American Camp Association! During the summer, campers will go swimming twice a week, go on one field trip a week, participate in fun and educational games and activities, and have special visitors throughout the summer that will add to their camp experience. When you register there is an annual $30 non-refundable registration fee and a weekly fee of $78/whole week or $68/half week (3 days or fewer).
The Edge Summer Day Camp is for children that love to skate! Each morning campers will get time on the ice with a counselor who is educated in figure skating, hockey, or recreational skating to improve campers’ skills. In the afternoon campers will play fun structured games and activities. Throughout the summer, there will be swimming and field trips. When you register for this camp, there is an annual $30 non-refundable registration fee and then a weekly fee of $83/whole week or $68/half week (3 days or fewer).
There are limited spots available so sign your child up before it is too late! This is a great experience that your child will never forget! The registration deadline is close of business Friday, May 5. For more information or to print out our registration forms, please visit www.owensboroparks.org.
At the time of registration, all forms must be filled out completely and a copy of the camper’s current immunization form must be provided. The $30 registration fee and the first week of camp fee are due at that time also. The registration fee is an annual fee that is good for summer, fall break, holiday, snow day, and spring break camps. If you have any questions feel free to call 270-687-8700.
