OWENSBORO AIR SHOW ANNOUNCES

PERFORMER LINEUP

The City of Owensboro announced the performer lineup today for the 2018 Owensboro Air Show on September 14-16.

“We are really excited to build on the success of the air show as a growing attraction for visitors from around the United States. In addition to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, we have some of the most recognized civilian aerobatic performers in the world as well as some of the most iconic warbirds from military history participating this year. It’s going to be another great show on the riverfront,” said Public Events Director, Tim Ross.

The show will feature the iconic P-51 and F4U Corsair warbirds flown by Scooter Yoak and Jim Tobul in addition to the Army Aviation Heritage Sky Soldiers bringing their AH-1 Cobra and UH-1 Huey helicopters.  The Sky Soldiers were in Owensboro for the 2017 air show and hundreds of people were at the airport throughout the weekend taking advantage of the unique opportunity to ride on one of the helicopters.  They will be back again this year offering the paid rides in addition to their performance over the river during the air show on Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the best civilian aerobatic pilots in the country will be participating this year as well.  Bill Stein, Matt Chapman, and Rob Holland will all be showcasing their amazing aerobatic abilities with a 3-ship routine and Mat Younkin and Gene Soucy will be returning to Owensboro as well. The Canadian Skyhawks Parachute Demo Team will make their first appearance in Owensboro as one of only six shows for the team in the United States this year.

Another new performer this year is the Paradigm Aerobatic Team.  Making their first appearance in Kentucky, the Paradigm team takes to the skies in their para-motors with a truly unique performance that is taking the air show industry by storm.

“I am excited about the lineup each year.  This year is no different with truly unique performers and some of the most sought after groups in the world.  Having the Blue Angels headline the show is really something that will be special for Owensboro and bring tremendous crowds to the riverfront each day.  We have had people calling from Florida, Ohio, and Missouri already asking about purchasing reserved seating tickets.  So, we know it is going to be a great crowd for the show again this year.”
