CSX RAILROAD WORK TO BEGIN
A contractor with CSX Railroad will begin work today on rail crossings throughout the City of Owensboro. The cutting of the streets this week is in preparation for rail replacement later this month. The following streets will be affected: J.R. Miller Boulevard, Daviess Street, Allen Street, 10th Street, West 9th Street, Maple Avenue, Plum Street, Moreland Avenue, George Street, Crabtree Avenue, 7th Street, West 5th Street, West 2nd Street, Rinaldo Road, Booth Avenue, and Griffith Avenue.
Traffic will be able to pass as directed by flaggers in the work area. Please use caution and attention in these areas. Rail replacement work is expected to continue through May 2016. More detailed information on closures to follow.
