CITY OF OWENSBORO TO CELEBRATE

ALL-AMERICAN FOURTH OF JULY

The City of Owensboro invites the region to downtown Owensboro’s riverfront to celebrate the All-American Fourth of July on Saturday, July 2, 2016 presented by Meijer.  The City of Owensboro is proud to have Meijer as a new sponsor for the annual festivities throughout Smothers Park and McConnell Plaza in downtown Owensboro.  The event will kick-off with a Kid’s Bike Parade down Veterans Blvd. at 5:00pm. Kids 10 and under are encouraged to decorate their bikes, wagons, scooters, and strollers to join the parade to get the evening started. All kids participating will receive some patriotic goodies following the parade in addition to free food at 4th Fest inside the Owensboro Convention Center.  Live music will take place on stages at McConnell Plaza and the RiverPark Center Patio throughout the evening.

In addition, the Owensboro Convention Center will be hosting 4th Fest presented by Specialty Foods Group in the exhibit hall from 4:00pm – the end of the fireworks.  4th Fest will include interactive games, activities, and food for the whole family.  There are also opportunities to reserve a seat or an entire table with a buffet dinner in prime view of the fireworks on the terrace.  Contact the Owensboro Convention Center for details.

There will be food, music, and family fun activities for everyone to enjoy at the All-American Fourth of July presented by Meijer! To cap off the evening, the skies above the Ohio River will light-up with fireworks accompanied by the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra with some of your favorite patriotic music at 9:15pm.

Be sure to get there early to set-up your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the kid’s bike parade and an evening full of entertainment for the entire family.
