The City of Owensboro announces its inaugural 12 Days of Christmas, a series of holiday activities in downtown Owensboro, which will run every weekend from November 26 through December 19, 2021.

The 12 Days of Christmas event will consist of numerous different activities taking place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the four weeks leading up to Christmas. Some activities will take place every weekend, such as the Energy on Ice outdoor skating rink at the Owensboro Convention Center. Other events will include the Hot Chocolate Hop, Holiday Stroll, and productions at the RiverPark Center, Bluegrass Hall of Fame, and Owensboro Convention Center.

The City of Owensboro will also be unveiling its new Dancing Lights display at Smothers Park, presented by Big Rivers Electric Corp., Green River Distilling Co., and Visit Owensboro. Dancing Lights will transform the center portion of Smothers Park in downtown Owensboro into an interactive holiday lights show. Every 15 minutes, lights will dance to a different classic Christmas song.

“We are excited to be adding a variety of activities along the riverfront for the Christmas season.  Having two anchor activities taking place each weekend night with the ice rink and dancing lights by the fountains in the park, it provides something for everyone during the holiday season as well as additional activities for people to enjoy before or after attending some of the performing arts shows downtown,” said Tim Ross, Director of Public Events.
