Tips to Prevent Local Flooding
Friday January 19, 2018 2:20 PM
Temperatures will be increasing over the next few days and rain is also expected in the forecast. While we’re excited for warmer weather, the melting snow and rain can cause local flooding. Our street department is working around the city now to clear as many inlets as possible, but we’re also asking for YOUR help.
1. Clear snow and ice from drains close to your home or on your street.
2. When shoveling snow off sidewalks or driveways, put the snow in your yard and not into the street to prevent blockage.
3. Drive with caution in areas that are prone to flash flooding.
We appreciate your help in keeping Owensboro streets clear and safe!
