EDGE ICE CENTER TO HOST 11TH ANNUAL INVITATIONAL FIGURE SKATING COMPETITION March 24-26

The City of Owensboro’s Edge Ice Center will host the 11th annual Living on the Edge ISI Invitational Skating Competition March 24-26.
Visiting teams include the Robert Unger Ice Chalet from Knoxville, Tennessee; Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena, Newark OH; and the Bloomington Figure Skating Club from the Frank Southern Ice Arena, Bloomington, IN.
The Owensboro Figure Skating Club team is comprised of 20 local skaters between the ages of 5 and 18 years. According to Team Coach Kerry Bodenheimer, the team has been practicing hard and is ready to compete at home after placing 4th in the ISI Winter Classic national event last month in Huntsville, Alabama. Several of the skaters are new to the team and looking forward to their first competition on home ice.
Practice sessions take place Friday afternoon and evening. Competitive events take place Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There are no admission fees and spectators are welcome. The facility will be closed for public skating throughout the weekend.
