Edge Ice Center Public Skating Hours Change Due To Invitational Team Figure Skating Competition.

The City of Owensboro’s Edge Ice Center will be hosting the 4th Annual “Living on the Edge” Team Figure Skating Competition, January 31 through February 1. The event is part of the Ice Skating Institute of America’s District 7 Competition Series. This year’s event will comprise of 80 skaters competing in 105 events and representing 5 ice arenas from KY, IN, OH, and AL. Economic impact of the event is estimated at $70,000.
The competition will start at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, January 31, and run throughout the day on Saturday, and conclude Sunday by noon. The competition schedule is available at www.owensboroparks.org. Members of the Owensboro Figure Skating Team will be competing and spectators are welcome; there are no admission fees.
Due to the competition schedule, the 1-4 p.m. public skating session on Saturday is cancelled; all other weekend sessions will take place as scheduled (Friday, 7-10 p.m.; Saturday, 7-10 p.m., and Sunday 1-4 p.m.).
