Smothers Park Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Join us at 5:00 PM for the annual lighting of the Smothers Park Christmas tree! Enjoy Christmas carols from the Kentucky Youth Chorale followed by the Dancing Lights spectacle.

Dancing Lights

Holiday Lights will transform the center portion of Smothers Park in downtown Owensboro into an interactive holiday lightshow. Every 15 minutes, lights will dance to a different classic Christmas carol. It is a spectacle that you won't want to miss!

Night Out at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum!

Jingle Jam at Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum

FREE special "Christmas Jam" in the Woodward Theater! Everyone is welcome to come and play an instrument or sing along. A lead band will be playing on stage with the chord and lyrics charts on the big screen for folks to follow along in the theater. Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade

Where Kentucky starts Christmas! The theme for the 85th Christmas Parade is “The Gift of Christmas.” The parade route runs along Second Street in downtown Owensboro, starting at Pearl Street and ending at Locust Street.

Symphony Storytime

This Symphony Storytime features the reading of The Nutcracker with musical interludes from Tchaikovsky's famous work. Children will learn about the composer and the music heard and can ask questions and interact with the Owensboro Symphony’s education team. Symphony Storytime has been developed for our youngest patrons, ages Birth through Five years of age.
